The next week was fun. Sirius passed his test. Actually, he got the best in the class, and in return, we continued our sessions.
I was really happy, even though Remus's night was coming closer and closer. I had never been there when it happened, since Sirius and I had been fighting for months. The others said that they all slept in a corner while Remus was a werewolf. In the morning, they would all leave when Remus transformed back. While the others had transformed many times, I had only transformed once. My animagus was a silver-ish husky. I was actually taller then Sirius in that form then in human form.
Anyway, as the days got closer, Remus became more Moody. He would snap at us, storm away, and like, an hour later, he'd come back and apologize. It was all confusing, but I still went with it.
One day, while sitting in the common room and talking to the others, Remus stormed in, his hand over his right eye. I immediately jumped up and walked over to him.
"What's wrong, Remus?" I asked.
"Nothing."
"Then why is your hand over your eye?"
"There's something in my eye."
"Let me see."
"I got it."
"Remus," I grabbed at his arm to pull it away. He stepped back, growled a little, and to my very surprise, swung at me. Since I have a bi-polar brother, I have fast reflexes for these kind of things. I ducked, and grabbed his arm, and with all my might, pulled it away. Behind his hand was a swollen black eye. I gasped.
"What happened?"
"None of your damn business!" He said before storming up the stairs. I stood there in shock, looked at the others, then ran up the stairs with James, Sirius, and Peter following behind. When we got to the door, I stopped them.
"You guys need to stay outside. Only I can handle this." I said. Without waiting for a reply, I entered the room, closed and locked the door, then put a lock charm on the door just in case.
Remus was sitting there, on his bed, rummaging through his bag, one hand over his eye.
"Remus," I said softly.
"Leave me alone!" He said.
"Listen to me! I'm here to help you, but you have to tell me what happened." I said, sitting next to him. He growled a little, then sighed.
"I got into a fight with a seventh year Slytherin." He said. I just looked at him. How could my Remus, the sensitive, peaceful, nice and kind marauder have gotten into a fight.
"Why did you get in a fight?" I asked, my voice cracking a little.
"Cause I called the twit a few names, and he took it personally." He said.
"Remus, is this part of your werewolf process or something?" I asked. He looked at me with pitiful eyes.
"It only gets worst with time, Jess. I'm scared. Scared that I might hurt one of you guys. Scared that I might hurt anyone. Or kill." He said this with so much sadness, a lump formed in my throat for a second.
"Remus, you'd never hurt anyone. Or kill. That's why we come with you to the shrieking shack. You have that much restraint in both forms." He pulled me into a tight hug, and I hugged him back. We were like that for a few moments, then pulled away.
"Don't worry Remus, we'll be there for you." I said, patting his leg. Just then did I notice the lump in his pants. My head snapped up to his face. He had a look of lust, and before I knew what happened, he leaned in and kissed me. I pulled away quickly, and jumped up.
"Wait! Jess!" Remus called, standing up.
"I have to go now. You know, to my boyfriend, Sirius Black. Your best friend." I said before running up. I ran so fast, I almost slammed into the others.
"Well, did you calm down Remus?" James asked.
No, I thought to myself. I excited him.
"He's not angry anymore." I said.
"Good," Sirius said, pulling me to sit next to him on the couch. "I was about to punch him for swinging at you." I couldn't help but smile.
