Months Later
After the fight, nothing was the same. I was still friends with Remus,
James, and Peter, but I didn't talk to them as much. I din't go to the
shrieking shack when it was Lupin's 'Time'. The joke I was going to play
was definatley off. I mostly hung out with the girls, and immediantly
realised they were nithing like the boys.
The girls talked a lot, but gossiped more. It was mostly about other girls or teachers, though they also talked a great deal about boys. One day, while sitting with a group of girls, working on our homework, the maruders walked in. All the girls giggled and waved at them. Lily and I looked at each other and rolled our eyes. Then the boys walked over to the group.
"Hey James, Remus, Peter," I said.
"Hey Jess." They said.
"And hello, Ms. Lily. Your looking beautiful, as always." James said. Lily gave him a death glare. Just then, one of the girls in the other group started giggling loudly. We all looked over, and saw that a girl was sitting on Sirius's lap. Sirius was kissing up and down her neck, and she burst into giggles again. My blood boiled for some reason.
"Hey James, can you tell them to get a room?" I said.
"Jealous much?" He said. Then he saw the look I gave him. "Just playing." He walked over to them.
"She's just jealous." The girl said. I glanced over at her.
"If looks could kill" I thought to myself. They talked for a second, the girl said something, and James walked back over, looking flustered.
"She said shut up. Actually, that's the nice version." He said.
"What did she actually say." I asked. He told me, and to tell the truth, what he said made me blush a littl bit.
"Well, I'm leaving." I said, getting my stuff.
"Okay. Now I'll have sometime with Li--"
"I'm going with you." Lily said quickly, getting her things and following me. We got to our dorm, and I threw my books on my bed.
"Ugh!" I yelled. "They can be so infuriating!"
"Yes," Lily said hesitantly. "But maybe James was right. About you being jealous." I opened my mouth. "Before you argue," She said quickly. "Listen to me." I closed my mouth, and she continued. "I mean, you're kind of over-reacting to," She hesitated. "Sirius." I growled a little.
"Don't say his name!" I said.
"Like that! You don't want anyone saying his name around you. You grow quiet if he's near you. You blush everytime you see him. Maybe you do kind of like him." She said. My blood boiled, but stopped. There was no reason to be mad at Lily. I sighed.
"Maybe I am over reacting, but I do_not like... Sirius Black." Lily's face lit up.
"Does that mean you're going to apologize?"
"Only when he does." I said.
"Like that'll ever happen." She said. We both smiled.
(Elapsed to Nighttime)
That night, we all stayed up talking, till I remembered I had to finish my potions homework. We were supposed to write two inches of parchment on why beetle eggs were important for many potions.I had only written a inch. I got out my suppies, and started writing.
At about eleven, I was almost done. I was also the only one down here. Then, the portrait hole opened up, and a group of laughing seventh year boys entered. The got quiet when they saw me. I didn't look up, but I could here them whispering something, and before I knew it, I was surrounded by them. One sat next to me.
"Hello." The boy said. I looked up, and saw that the boy had blonde hair, green eyes, and a dazzling smile.
"Hi." I said, looking back at my paper.
"What are you writing there?"
"My Homework." I said.
"You know, you're really pretty." He said.
"Umm... thanks." I said, noticing that his hand was creeping towards my leg.
"What's your name?" He asked.
"Why do you want to know?" I asked, his hand really close to my leg now.
"I just want to know who I'm talking to." He said innocently. He put his hand on my leg, and I tensed and jumped up.
"Look at the time! I have to go!" I said, quickly picking up my things.
"It's not that late." He said, standing up. I stepped back as he stepped forward."What's wrong? Are you scared?" He asked, his friends also wwalking towards me. I backed up towards the girl's staircase, but two boys got in my way. One put his foot on the stairs,a nd it turned to a slide. Then, I remembered that my friends were just up the stairs on the other staircase.
I took the chance, and ran at the boys. I threw my ink bottles at them, and they jumped back. I ran to the staircase, and the boys laughed.
I ran to the door, and banged and kicked it like there was no tomorrow.
"Remus!James!Peter!Sirius!" I yelled. Just then, two boys grabbed me by the arms, and started hauling me up the stairs. I tried kicking them, but they had me just out of reach.
"What the--?" I heard the voice of Sirius say.
"SIRIUS!" I yelled.
"Jess?" He asked.
"Get out of here, Black. This has nothing to--" The boy didn't finish. I heard multiple thuds, and the two boys let go of me and fell to the ground. I collapsed, crying. I heard someone quickly climbing the stairs, and before I knew it, I was in Sirius's embrace. I cried into his shouder, till he picked me up and took me to their dorm. He sat me on his bed, and the others crowded me.
"What happened?" James asked. I told them, and Sirius and James left the room closing the door behind them. Remus sat next to me, and I cried in his shoulder.
"Remus, I can't do this." I sobbed.
"It's okay." He said. The last time I had cried, I was six. A kid had pushed me off a swing, I went flying, fell on concrete, and had to get twenty stiches. Usually, I don't cry for anything, but this time was different. For the first time, in along time, I was actually scared.
A couple minutes later, Sirius and James came back. James had a black eye, while Sirius had bruises on his cheek. They both had blood on their knuckles. Remus got up, and Sirius took his place. I wasn't crying as much, but tears where still falling. Sirius wiped them away.
"Sirius," I croaked. "I'm sorry for making you angry, and for acting so childish."
"I should be saying I'm sorry for making you angry and just messing up." He said. We started talking, and after awhile, we had to turn the lights out. Sirius closed the hangings, and said Lumous (SP?) so that we could continue or conversation.
While Sirius talked about how he'd been flunking classes since we fought, blah, blah, blah. I caught myself staring at his lips, which looked so perfect. Before I could even stop myself, I leaned in and kissed Sirius Black.
It felt amazing to kiss him. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and to my surprise, he wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed me back.
It was like waking up for the first time. I was aware that Sirius smelled like food, and that his lips were as soft as silk. I heard the indivisual snores from the others. It was a unbelivable experiance.
When we finally pulled apart, I couldn't help but grin and giggle. I never giggle. He pulled me closer, and I put my head on his chest. I heard his heart racing and grinned.
The last thing I heard was Nox
