About an hour later, a boy walked into the compartment with the suspicious box.
"It's truly brilliant, Lee. We all can't wait to see what you do with it." He said, handing Lee the box and leaving.
"What is that?" I asked, my curiosity getting the best of me. As soon as I said that, a giant hairy leg stuck out of the box, and my heart skipped a couple beats. I was deathly afraid of bugs, but giant bugs? I'll be having a heart attack in no time. I scooted away from Lee.
"Brittany, its not going to-" Just then, the box lid flew open, and I was staring into the many eyes of a giant tarantula.
Every thing happened so quickly, it was hard to process. I was screaming at the top of my lungs as the spider jumped out the box, and started scuttling towards me. I jumped on Fred's lap, still screaming as Lee tried to get the spider, which was under the seat.
"Brittany! Stop!! Your making it worst!" George kept on saying, while Lexy sat there frozen in her seat. Just then, who to show up, but Percy.
"What's going on her-" He stopped short as Lee pulled the tarantula out from under the seat. Percy started panicking. "What is that!? What's it for!? Why is it here!? What are we going to do!?"
"Gee, you twit. Maybe if you were here earlier and knew how to use your wand, you wouldn't be asking these things, now would you?" George said. By now I had stopped screaming, but was clinging to Fred like my life depended on it. Lee was gently, but quickly putting the spider in the box. Percy gave us all stern looks, as if that meant anything, and slammed the door shut. Just then did I notice I was still on Fred's lap, and he was holding me tightly. I slid off of him.
"Sorry. And thanks, I guess." I muttered, embarrassed.
"No problem." He said.
"Well, now that were over that, we can tell you that we saw Harry Potter." George said. I immediately turned my attention.
"He's finally here?" I asked. He nodded. Then, he and Fred started rambling on about him till I couldn't take it any more. I left the compartment and went searching.
About half-way there, I practically ran into a bushy-haired girl who must have been a first year.
"Sorry." We both said at the same time as we passed each other.
When I reached the compartment Harry was in, three boys ran out, one whimpering and clutching his knuckle. I peered inside, and to my disbelief, there was Harry Potter, sitting next to Ron.
"Ron!" I said. They turned to me. "The nerve of you, not even saying hi to me!" I said.
"I didn't see you." He said, turning slightly pink.
"Yeah, okay." I said before turning to Harry.
"Brittany Jordan." I said, holding out a hand for him to shake.
"Harry Potter." He said, shaking my hand.
"Hope you get in Gryffindor. Best house of them all, in my, and many others, opinion." I said, then I turned to Ron. "You've got dirt on your nose, Ron." I said.
"So I've been told." He mumbled. I pulled out my wand and tried to clear it for him. Instead, I managed to make more dirt appear. I jut shrugged.
"I tried. See ya!" I said before leaving to go change into my robes.
