The next morning, I was in a better mood, and decided to apologize to everyone I made angry. I put on my robes, and opened the door, only, there was another door.
Weird. I thought to myself. I opened that door, and there was another door. What the--? I opened the next door, and there was another door. I started getting frustrated. I opened another door, and another, and another. It was after the forty-third door that I stopped and yelled. I looked back, expecting to see doors behind me, but our dorm was right there. I opened another door hopefully, only to find another door.
"That's it!" I yelled. I went back to the dorm room, and went looking under my bed till I found our spell book. I flipped through the pages, till I found the spell to open doors. I walked up to the door.
Alohamora I said. There was sort of a rush of air, and the door opened. I looked, and saw what looked like hundreds of other doors swing open. I quickly ran through them all, and down the stairs. I ran out of the common room.
"What were you doing in there?" The pink lady asked me.
"It was the doors--" I started.
"Excuses, excuses. You better hurry along, now. The classes have already started." She said.
"WHAT!?" I said before sprinting away.
When I got to my first class, everyone was silently writing things down. There was a cat sitting on a desk, staring at me. Everyone in the class looked up at me. I saw the twins and Lee smirk. I quickly took a seat next next to Angelina.
"Where were you?" She whispered from the corner of her mouth.
"There was something wrong with the door." I said. I pulled out some parchment, a quill, and ink, and started copying down everything the others were copying down.
"Ms. Jordan," The voice of the stern lady from sortings said.
Dang, I thought to myself. "Yes, Professor McGongall?"
"You are thirty minutes late." She said.
"I'm sorry, Professor. I, uh, couldn't get out of my dormotry." I said, looking down. There was snickering.
"Next time, you should get up earlier then." She said.
"No. It was... door problems." More snickering.
"Well, I hope you fixed it. Five points from Gryffindor." I held in a groan, and continued writing down things on the board, ignoring the glares I got.
At the end of class, while walking out, Fred, George, and Lee walked beside me.
"Nice going, Brittany." Lee said.
"Don't you dare say anything." I snapped. "The whole door thing was from you guys, and don't try dening it."
"How could it be us, if boys aren't allowed on the girls staircase?" George said.
"You all have your ways." I said.
"You're right." Fred said, and they all left me, baffled by how they did it.
